CANDY CORN JAR PATTERN |
Paint Palette: Deco Art Americana: Moon Yellow Black Marigold Dark chocolate Burnt Orange Jack o'latern orange White Slate Grey Delta Perm-enamel Clear Gloss Glaze Any brand of Gold spray paint Flat latex wall paint, white or off-white 16 oz. small pickel jar 2 1/2" terra cotta pot 18" jute twine 1" or 2" foam brushes Hot glue gun and glue sticks Jar preparation: wash jar out with warm soapy water and remove label. Let dry. With a foam brush apply the first coat of the latex wall paint. Let dry overnight or for 8 hrs before applying the second and third coats. Apply the second and third coats of wall paint. Basecoat middle section of jar with Buttermilk. The top and bottom sections of jar base with black. Basecoat terra cotta pot with black, inside and out. Transfer the candy corn pattern onto the Buttermilk area. Base the yellow section of candy corn with Moon Yellow. Shade top of moon yellow section with Marigold. Base the orange section of candy corn with Jack O'Latern Orange. Shade stop of orange section with Burnt orange. Base the White section of candy corn with white. Shade around the tip with Slate Grey. Add string, bows and stiches with Black. Using a stylus, make Burnt Orange and Marigold dots all over the black sections of the jar including the terra cotta pot. To finish: Using a foam brush apply the Delta- Perm enamel Clear Gloss Glaze to the jar and terra cotta pot. Wrap Jute twine around the rim of the jar a couple of times. Hot glue in place. Tie a bow of twine and glue onto center of rim. Add candle votive of your choice! |
